Power in Prayer

When you begin to pray, do you feel a deep weakness and a sense of “wow, this is not really working…?” Let me encourage you, this feeling of weakness is meant to lead you to your greatest strength – Jesus.

It Takes Faith to Pray

Remember these words in the book of Hebrews – “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.(Hebrews 11:6.)

When we come to pray, many of us experience a deep sense of weakness and frailty, especially as we begin to pray. Unfortunately, most of us stop praying when we feel this and never unearth the blessing that is waiting for us around the corner.

This weakness we experience at the onset of our prayers is meant too retrain and refocus our eyes to look upon Jesus. Said another way, God is looking for those who will exercise their faith in Him. Remember, we must believe that He is and that He rewards those who seek Him.

Press On

As we experience weakness, we have a choice – give up and believe that the blessing of God is not for us – or – stand upon His word, press on, (ie. exercise your faith) and believe that He will do exactly what He has promised to do – reward those who seek Him.

Jesus wants to reveal Himself to you – wants to reveal Himself in you. Press through the weakness and know that Jesus is fixing your eyes upon your greatest prayer resource – Himself.

Power in Prayer

When we are stripped of our religious statements, memorized little sayings, and “tips and tricks” for a better prayer life (trust me, I have lived in that stuff for WAY too long) – we are left with one resource, one hope – Jesus, our greatest strength in prayer.

What do I mean by that? Jesus will always answer prayers that are in alignment with His will – Every. Single. Time.If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” (1 John 5:14-15.)

It is a done deal. Jesus always answers the prayers that are in accordance to His will. And as we press on through our weakness and the stripping away of all things but Christ, Jesus Himself fills us with the desires of His heart – His prayers.

This is our power in prayer – the indwelling of the Spirit of God leading and guiding us through the prayers that are on His heart. He is looking for children that will press on in weakness, believe that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him, and in humility and true power, pray the prayers of His heart.

This is for You

You were born for this. You were created with the ability to host the presence of God and pray His prayers – to call down his blessings upon your world. Rise up, stand firm upon the strength of His word, and pray!

Go Jesus!
